Hi Everyone,
Well there doesn't seem to be any interest in swapping right now, so we will hold off for awhile, I will check back soon.....
Wishing you all a wonderful and Happy New Year!!!!!
Be Safe,
Hugs, Louise
*******

Hello my Friends,
I just wanted to give you a heads up on the colors of the blocks, etc...... We will have 2 swaps going if enough join in....

First swap is: Blue, Purple, Cream all around....meaning, we will make 2 blocks one is a purple block, if there are 2 purples used you will use dark purple and a lighter purple, cream all around is the background and it's unbleached muslin.....no whites at all... The fabric: Marbles, Tone on Tone, but only Unbleached Muslin for the background.....Please pre-wash all fabrics. Also use a good quality fabric. I will post a picture each month of the blocks we are to make.
The same will go for the blue block...., Now along with those blocks we will make 4 ~ 6.5" Friendship Star blocks...2~ Blue and 2 Purple, same kind of fabric., so you will make a total of 2 ~ 12.5" blocks and 4 ~ 6.5" blocks.....

Second swap is: Yellow and Green and white all around, not white on white but Bleached Muslin.... 12.5" block....Now with this block you the maker can choose the block you would like to make, please change blocks each month so we won't get the same block over and over.

Please remember:
1. Contact me when you send and receive.
This is important for me to keep up where the swap is at......
2. If you have any questions contact me.

If you have any questions please e-mail me: kittykid_3@yahoo.com and put 2010 in subject line..

I look forward to swapping with you...
Be Safe
Hugs, Louise

Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Hello everyone,

Well this is what has kept me busy for awhile and I am glad to be finished with it , this is the Dora things I made for my great niece for Christmas, my only regret is using the fabric with glitter on it to shash the blocks together.

I used tonal backing and quilted hearts on it, so if she outgrows "Dora" she can turn the quilt over and have a purple one.....

O.K. I will be right back with some information about our swap for 2010...

Are You Ready For The New Year??

Hey Everyone,
How was your Christmas? We had a nice one but a few members of the family was sick and still are sick but it was a nice one anyway.....I have survived and have started cleaning the sewing room up from all the sewing that went on....My great nieces Quilt, Curtains and pillow turned out pretty and I will upload pictures soon.

I have started working on our swap for 2010, this will be different and there will be triangles, I know, I know...but we need some in this quilt....Hey who has their Red and White blocks set together? if you have yours set together please e-mail me a picture and I will upload it here, mine is not set together yet but I do have the fabrice to set it together but I got to get this one going first.

So stay tuned, I will be back.......
Be Safe,

1 More Month

Until Christmas....a little less than a month actually, Are you all ready?? I have most of my shopping finished, I tried to start it early and did start earlier than I usually do.

Tina, I received my 2 blocks for the BOM, they are pretty and thank you for them and the goody you sent I appreciate it.... so I think there is one who likes receiving their blocks and when she does receive them then this swap will be over for the year......

I have been busy making a gift for my Secret Santa Partner on a Quilt group I am on, got them done except for the coasters and it won't take long to do them...here it is:

It's long, so this is the best I could do with taking a picture..

You can actually see the color better in the placemats....I hope she likes them.
Now on to get the quilt quilted for my niece and the curtains made....I know my gr-niece will be happy with the quilt, that girl is crazy about Dora the Explorer, and she loves pink, LOL she probably will hate pink when she grows up.....
Well gotta go, Have a peaceful night,
And Be Safe.

Checking In

LOL, Tina, wait till you get my age, I'm sorry to say your memory loss gets worse...sad but true...
Thanks for the update on your block, hey girls , how are the rest of you coming along? we've started on the last week in the month, hard to believe that summer is almost over with....

Hey I have a question for any of ya.....have you ever rooted a Whysteria plant?? and I hope I have that spelled right.
This little 'old lady rooted me one, she just broke it off and stuck it in a bucket of dirt, man she has a green thumb, it took and I set it out, boy it's pretty after 3 years, I have tried to root one a friend of mine has tried, and my nephew who graduated with a degree in agri is trying for me now, but it doesn't look to me like it is going to take hold and root.
So if ya know anything about this I would appreciate the info.

I have 2 lap quilts quilted for charity, they are out of cheaters cloth but it will work and have several more to go....I just need to get the binding cut out and take to my sister to bind....slow but getting it done.

O.K. well thats it for the night, Ya'll have a peaceful night.
Be Safe.

Hump Day!!

Today went fairly good, after working in the house most of the day I did manage to get a lap quilt about 3/4 quilted, but was so tired I stopped, and will try to finish it tomorrow sometime, Grocery shopping is at the top of the list for tomorrow.

I bought a quilt book a few week ago and it's called "Simple Strategies For Block-Swap Quilts" by Lynn Roddy Brown, It's a very interesting book, it shows you different ways to put your blocks together that you have received from a swap.....the Scrappy 4 patch we did in 3 Sisters is in there and she showed several different ways to assemble them, her block was white where we used black.
I put some of my blocks on the design board tonight, I really like this block. I had to take a side view of it because my quilter takes up the whole room, LOL....I think I am going to finish this out to a queen size.

I will post a picture when it's finished, so many projects and so little time, Or maybe it's because I am getting older??

Well on that note Tiger Lee and I say Good Night everyone.

Be Safe.,

Hugs, Louise

What A Day!!

Went to the grocery store and got some items that I had forgotten when I grocery shopped...then went by Lowes and got a new step ladder so I can "try " and finish cleaning my sewing room, what a mess.

Well anyway I came home and fixed 4 dishes of hash brown casserole, yummy, I put 3 in the freezer and we have one to munch on.
Oh My Gosh !! was it ever hot....so needless to say we got some bad storms this evening...debree flying in the air......

Here is a project I finished up and hubby hung it for me, these are blocks I bartered for on our quilt group...I then took and quilted them....I wanted a rustic looking hanger and it's a dried limb but wasn't able to get it like I wanted it so I just put a vine on it....Thanks for Bartering with me Holly she has a blog/web site, you should go and visit her too ...

Well, thats all for tonight, I need to go and work in the sewing room....Have a good night everyone.
Be safe......

Sunday, June 7, 2009

Beautiful Day !!

And it was warm but there was a breeze, I didn't get to enjoy it much as I was cleaning in the house, our bedroom to be exact, but it's all clean now.
I'm also cleaning in my sewing room, computer room and quilting room, so needless to say I will be cleaning for quite some time.
I really need to go on a No Buy of fabric for awhile and have been talking to myself to do it...but I'm just to hung up on buying fabric right now, Yes I know I'm a chicken, LOL....

Well my sister Donna got the binding on the Tutti-Fruit quilt, she's much better at putting binding on a quilt than I am thats one part of quilting I just do not like at all. So Here it is:

Pretty colorful huh? I have another Tutti Fruit top that almost as big as this one, I'm thinking of putting a border on it to make it just a wee bit larger......

Got to go now and refold some more fabric, chat with ya'll another time....
Be safe and God Bless.

Hello There!!

It been a crazy day, I did get the quilt quilted and off the frame, I have a few wrinkles in it and I hope with pratice I will get better.
My quilter did great until half way the quilt then it started breaking thread, first on top and then the bobbin, UGH!!!! wears you out fightening with it.

Here is a picture of my quilter.

It's a KenQuilt 633...I'm so proud of it...It doesn't have a Stitch Regulator on it and I wish I had of gotten it, it's hard to keep your stitches the same...

The quilt that is on there is from a swap I was in on my group...It's called "Tutti-Fruity" , I have another a little smaller one this one......This one is 72"X86"..The 2 Tutti -Fruity quilts are for charity, when it's finished I will post a picture.
This is the wrinkle I had in there, if you are a long arm quilter, would you pass on some information on how not to get this....It doesn't look bad when It was took off the frame.

My sister will get it tomorrow and put the binding and label on it.
It was pretty warm here , so I might as well get used to a hot summer......

Well thats it for tonight...Have a peaceful sleep....from Frost (Frosty Bear) and Louise

(hehe, can you tell I love my babies?

Jeezs Can You Believe It?

Seriously, the month is almost over, and I find that I have all these things I want to get done in a month and before I know it the month just bit the dust...I find that as I am aging I just can't seem to get things done as fast as I want, do you feel that way?

I did get a quilt in the quilter frame and ready to start on tomorrow , also have the hubby's hair to cut, that has to be done first or we will have to take the lawn mower to it , hehe.
O.K. are you waiting for the next block in the Red and White Block of the Month?? well here goes..

Antique Tile Block and you can download it at:

Let's see, I've made and quilted one quilt since I was here:

It's a Halloween Quilt I made for my great niece using blocks from a swap on my group 3 Sisters Cyber Quilting, she loved it, I also made her a Trick or Treat bag:

This is the Front and Back of the bag.....I also made a pillow case to store it all in until next Halloween....
I made 3 Purses for each of the great nieces for Christmas and a Pillow for one of the girls teacher, but forgot to take pictures, jeezs couldn't believe I did that.
I hope you all are staying warm.....
Until next Time
